It’s almost time for pumpkin pie! Isaac was playing with these pumpkin cans a few weeks ago. Since then, some already found its way into a pumpkin roll.
All three children love the race car carts at Lowe’s, but there is only room for two. Obviously, the reason for going to Lowe’s is to push the cart around as fast as possible so they can drive. If I forget and pause to shop, they will remind me to go!
Isaac was delighted when I took him up into the tower to play with the other children. The picture is from September 13.
Here is Isaac with his Aunt Marianne. She and Carolyn found this sunglasses key chain in a box of junk and decided to put it on the poor boy. Good thing he is manly enough to wear pink!
Has it been nearly a month since my last post? Ah, well. Things have been rather crazy since Isaac came along. Of course, that was about three months ago; so I’d better get with the program or find a new excuse. My experience is that adjusting to a new baby takes about three months. Now it’s time to regain a “normal” routine!
One of the specials that was sung in church a few times recently is the song, “God’s Been Good.” I’m not sure who wrote it, and I can’t find the lyrics online. The Thompsons sing it, and you can listen to a quick clip here. Anyway, it’s been going through my head a lot lately. I am impressed by the great blessing of God in my life — a beautiful family with three children, health, a steady job, a nice house, two cars, and my needs and most wants satisfied. There are so many around me facing serious needs or terrible sickness, but God is taking such great care of me. I don’t understand it; but I pray I will never forget to praise God for it!
Last week, I was trying to watch the children while their mother grabbed a few much-deserved Z’s. Isaac became fussy, probably wanting to eat, I reasoned. Trying to delay the inevitable waking of Mama, the Maker of Food, I set him up in the baby swing. No dice. Isaac kept fussing.
Andrew and Esther knew what to do. They covered him with their ample supply of McDonald’s Beanie Baby bears. Before I knew it, Isaac was asleep!
That’s right! Carolyn just called me to say that Isaac rolled over today. Yesterday, he rolled from his back to his side. Today, he rolled from his stomach to his back — twice in just a few minutes. Perhaps he will be an athlete. I’m trying to decide whether to call the circus or the Guinnes Book of World Records first!
