We’re not looking for a diploma, we’re looking for a designer. We’re looking for somebody who can show us that they’ve done the work and can do it again. Whether you did it for pay, for a grade, or just for fun is of no interest to us. So don’t bother lying on your resume about your degrees. Your portfolio will tell us all we need to know. And XHTML never lies.

It’s job listings like this one that motivate me to build a portfolio for the idyllic day when I make the leap to a different employer.

logout —> verify

Well, my dear brother bequeathed me with a copy of Paint Shop Pro 9. I’m setting up a discussion forum for a web site client. Needing a new “verify” button for a specialized function I added to the forum software, I assessed my software toolbox and found Paint Shop Pro. After poking around for a few hours, I successfully transformed an existing logout button image into a new verify button. Don’t laugh at me, graphics design pros. This is a great achievement for a design-challenged web programmer such as myself. Obviously, I need some more design prowess, as the web is full of graphics.

Based on Paul’s suggestion: verify white .

Paul fixed for me: Easier to see verify .  I should blog about my projects more often. :)
