carbon footprintClimate Change News and Actions by SafeClimate | calculator

Looks like I have a smaller than average carbon footprint. Obviously I’m not doing my part to fight off the frigid winter! If only I could afford a less fuel-efficient vehicle. Sadly, I’ll have to wait until my children are older and start taking long, hot showers. Until then, I can only hope God fires off a volcano to make up for the carbon I’m not generating.

Show’s over. Thank you, and come again next time!

——————————————————————-

The National Hurricane Center thanks you for subscribing to the automated email advisory system this past season. If you were subscribed and no longer wish to receive the advisory email, then follow the unsubscription instructions at the end of this message or visit the NHC website at http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/signup.shtml

Next season, the Eastern Pacific Tropical Weather Outlooks will start on May 15, for those subscribed to the Pacific lists.

Tropical Weather Outlooks for the Atlantic, Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico will be issued starting June 1.

If you have any comments about this service, please feel free to send us email (noted below).

Thank you again, and we will see you next season!

Check out the NHC season summary, should you care to read through it. Keep in mind, some experts disagree as to whether some of the named storms should have been named at all. The suspected agenda in naming these questionable storms, of course, is to promote the idea that global climate change is causing an increase in tropical storm activity.

Whether the season was slightly above or below average, we still thank God for keeping us safe — because it only takes one hurricane to really mess up life as we know it!

Nitrogen debits

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Should we issue “nitrogen debits” to offset “carbon credits?” It’s fun watching the followers of the Global Warming Religion get caught in their own game. Take a look at this article while I excuse myself to laugh uproariously!

Nitrogen pollution drives trees to soak up more CO2 - earth - 13 June 2007 - New Scientist Environment
Catherine Brahic
Nitrogen pumped into the environment by human activities such as driving cars and farming is fertilising tree growth and boosting the amount of carbon being stored in forests outside the tropics, say researchers.

Their study provides a surprising example of how one type of human pollution is helping to counter another. But the researchers caution that they do not yet know what proportion of carbon dioxide emissions are being offset by the anthropogenic release of nitrogen.

Global warming heretic

Penguins on iceberg

Professor David Bellamy is being excommunicated as president of two wildlife organizations for blaspheming the sacred cannon of man-made global warming. The entire article is worth a read.

Wildlife groups axe Bellamy as global warming ‘heretic’
Jonathan Leake, Environment Editor

Bellamy, 72, a former botany lecturer at Durham University, endeared himself to generations of youngsters with a series of popular wildlife programmes that ran from the 1970s through to 1999. He has also written many wildlife books. He won respect from hardline environmentalists with his campaigns to save Britain’s peat bogs and other endangered habitats. In Tasmania he was arrested when he tried to prevent loggers cutting down a rainforest.

In January he gave a keynote speech at the Royal Institution in London which was hosting Apocalypse No, a conference organised by the Scientific Alliance.

“Global warming is a largely natural phenomenon. The world is wasting stupendous amounts of money on trying to fix something that can’t be fixed,” he said.

Last month he made similar assertions in New Scientist magazine when he claimed that glaciers were expanding because the world was getting cooler rather than warmer. The claim contradicted recent scientific studies that found 85% of the world’s glaciers are in retreat.
